The ball will drop in Times Square in the heart of New York City to ring in 2020 at midnight on Wednesday morning. The ball lowering in New York City as the new year begins has become a symbol of the holiday, dating back to the tradition’s inception in 1907.
The Times Square party leading up to midnight will feature a number of performances from the likes of LL Cool J, Alanis Morissette, and Post Malone. In addition, Julianne Hough, Lucy Hale, and Lauren Alaina will also partake in events on the stages in Times Square.
