Julia Louis-Dreyfus joins with high school alumnae to support Brett Kavanaugh’s accuser

Veep” star Julia Louis-Dreyfus is among the alumnae of a Maryland women’s high school who have signed a letter expressing support for their fellow alumna who has accused Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh of sexual harassment.

“I was class of ‘79 & signed this letter,” Louis-Dreyfus wrote Monday on Twitter of the letter signed by about 200 Holton-Arms School graduates.

Christine Blasey Ford went public with her claim Sunday that Kavanaugh drunkenly forced himself on her in the 1980s while the pair were at a high school party. She was allegedly 15, making him 17. Kavanaugh has “categorically and unequivocally” denied the accusation.

“Dr. Blasey Ford’s experience is all too consistent with stories we heard and lived while attending Holton. Many of us are survivors ourselves,” the Holton-Arms School letter states.

“We dream of making a world where women are free from harassment, assault and sexual violence,” the letter continues. “We hold deep gratitude to Dr. Blasey Ford for bravely stepping forward and bringing us closer to that world we all seek.”

Kavanaugh’s former high school, Georgetown Prep, told CNN Monday it has “no knowledge regarding any accusation.” Two of the federal appeals court judge’s ex-girlfriends issued glowing character references Monday, to supplement 65 statements circulated last week from female friends.

Ford’s allegation has caused trouble for Kavanaugh’s appointment to the Supreme Court. His confirmation was on track until last Wednesday, when Ford’s story started leaking anonymously to the press.
