Mika Brzezinski to Paul Ryan: ‘You just sold out’

MSNBC “Morning Joe” co-host Mika Brzezinski said Friday that House Speaker Paul Ryan “sold out” in endorsing Donald Trump for president after weeks of reticence.

Brzezinski said the endorsement gave no information concerning what persuaded Ryan’s endorsement, just “good conversation.”

“If he had a good reason, I want to hear it. I’m all for it. I’m all for those meaningful conversations leading to something and hearing something really good from Donald Trump about what exactly he’s going to do to lead the party forward or help make America great again,” Brzezinski said. “Tell me what it was, Paul Ryan, because you just sold out. You just completely sold out.”

After the endorsement was unveiled, Ryan said he felt Trump would promote Republican goals, unlike Democratic front-runner, Hillary Clinton, who he said is “promising another Obama term.”

After Friday’s show ended, Trump tweeted that he will no longer watch or makes appearances on “Morning Joe,” and saying he’d heard Brzezinski has “gone wild with hate.” Minutes earlier, Brzezinski had spoken glowingly of Clinton’s Thursday foreign policy speech, in which Clinton delivered some of her harshest attacks yet on Trump’s presidential bid.
