Chris Christie to pen book describing GOP descent into ‘cowardice and madness’

Former New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie is writing a book in response to the Trump administration, laying out strategies for moving away from the era of “grievance politics.”

Christie, a 2016 presidential contender, will touch on his once-strong relationship with former President Donald Trump but will reportedly dig into the president’s time in power, which he in part blames for GOP losses in Congress and the White House in 2020.

The book, titled Republican Rescue: Saving the Party from Truth Deniers, Conspiracy Theorists, and the Dangerous Policies of Joe Biden, is scheduled to be published on Nov. 16 by Threshold, an imprint of Simon & Schuster.

CHRIS CHRISTIE: TRUMP DECISION ON 2024 PRESIDENTIAL RACE WON’T AFFECT MINE

“Christie delivers a frank insider’s account of that election and the tragic descent of some members of the Republican Party into cowardice and madness, as well as no-nonsense solutions for how to recover the party’s image and integrity, and how to beat back the ultra-liberal policies of Joe Biden’s Democrats,” Threshold said in the announcement of the book on Monday, according to the Associated Press.

Christie will dive into the last year of Trump’s presidency, “which provoked nothing but conspiracy theories and infighting,” according to the description of his book. He will also lay out his criticism of the Biden administration.

Christie has been outspoken against Trump’s claims of election fraud in the aftermath of the 2020 election, even supporting the second impeachment efforts on him following the Jan. 6 riot.

The former governor, who has been floated as a 2024 presidential contender, said in May that he would not wait for Trump to make an announcement on his run before making his own decision.

In 2019, Christie published his tell-all of Trumpworld titled Let Me Finish: Trump, the Kushners, Bannon, New Jersey, and the Power of In-Your-Face Politics.
