Apprentice star Omarosa: Trump has ‘diverse group’ of supporters

Three-time Apprentice contestant Omarosa Manigault, now the vice chair of the National Diversity Coalition for Donald Trump, said the GOP front-runner has seen a “widespread, diverse group of people” supporting his campaign.

“Eight million people have cast their votes for Donald Trump. Not all of them are white men as the media would like to report. Many of them are African Americans, many of them are Hispanics. If you look at Florida, he won 66 of the 67 counties and so, yes, we have a widespread, diverse group of people who are supporting him and I think you will see that as we go forward,” Manigault told Fox News’ Greta Van Susteren Tuesday.

Manigault, an African-American woman, dismissed other candidates’ claims that Trump has struggled with minority groups due to his stances on illegal immigration and refugee programs.

Instead, the reality TV star cited her relationship with Trump over the past 13 years as her reason for backing him in the election. Manigault said his proposed reforms to immigration policy would affect her Los Angeles community, adding “that’s really why I stand by him.”

Previously an aide in the Clinton administration, Manigault said she will remain loyal to the Manhattan businessman even if it means running against Hillary Clinton’s campaign.

“I think it’s going to be rough because Donald Trump is scrappy, he is tough and he likes to win but I also know the Clintons because as you know I worked in the Clinton White House and they have an incredible organization,” she said. “She is an outstanding woman but when she goes head-to-head with Donald Trump my odds are on Donald Trump.”
