President Trump is a fan of only one type of fake news: That which contains his picture on the cover of a national newsmagazine.
Pictures emerged Tuesday of a fake March 1, 1999, issue of Time Magazine that has Trump’s image on the cover with headlines, “TRUMP IS HITTING ON ALL FRONTS . . . EVEN TV!” as well as “The ‘Apprentice’ is a television smash!”
Four of Trump’s golf clubs have the framed photos hanging inside, but the news he has shared on his walls for patrons to see is artificial.
“I can confirm that this is not a real TIME cover,” Kerri Chyka, a spokeswoman for Time Inc., told the Washington Post.
In fact, that publishing date was the debut of Trump’s reality television show, “The Apprentice.” Plus, the typography, layout and headline style stray from Time’s design.
A spokeswoman for Time later said the magazine asked Trump’s businesses to take down the fake covers on display, the Washington Post reported in an update.

The four known faux photos were spotted at Trump National Doral Golf Club near Miami; Trump National Golf Club in Sterling, Va.; Trump Turnberry of Scotland and Trump International Hotel Doonbeg in Ireland.
Two other U.S. courses were found not to contain the framed photos, but the remaining courses are private, preventing reporters from searching.
The White House told the Post it could not comment on the matter.
