Sarah Sanders has an ‘impossible job’ under Trump, says New York Times’ Maggie Haberman

The New York Times’s Maggie Haberman said Thursday evening White House press secretary Sarah Sanders has an “impossible job” after Sanders issued a denial of a report that said President Trump was ready to fire national security adviser H.R. McMaster.

“This is actually an impossible job for any press secretary,” Haberman, the Times’ White House correspondent, said in response to Sanders’ tweet.

In response to a fellow journalist, who noted there have been “great ones,” Haberman added, “The job of being press secretary for a president who floats parts of his own gossip and then denies it loudly is impossible for anyone.”

The report Sanders was refuting came from the Washington Post, which said Trump was actively discussing prospects for McMaster.

Haberman last year was dubbed a “Trump-whisperer” by Vanity Fair as she often gets interviews with Trump even though he rails against the Times, calling it the “Failing New York Times.”
