Priebus kicks off GOP convention with a moment of silence

CLEVELAND — Republican National Committee Chairman Reince Priebus kicked off his party’s national convention Monday with a moment of silence for the fallen police officers in Dallas and Baton Rouge, La.

The 2,472 committed Republican delegates from across U.S. bowed their heads to pay respect to the victims of the separate police shootings for several seconds before the floor proceedings got underway.
