Rep. Connolly’s staff calls cops on Tea Party visitors

President Obama will be at George Mason University’s Patriot Center Friday morning, in the district of supposedly-still-on-the-fence Rep. Gerry Connolly, D-11th, to make his last stand on Obamacare before the House non-vote.

Connolly voted for the House health care bill, but claims he still hasn’t made up his mind on whether he supports the Senate-passed version.

Fat chance: Connolly voted yes in the House Budget Committee markup on March 15. And when a local Tea Party group went to his office to voice their opposition to Obamacare, Connolly’s staff called the cops.

Meanwhile, Supervisor Pat Herrity, R-Springfield – Connolly’s likely challenger in November – will be holding his own “Tell Gerry Pelosi: Hands Off My Health Care” rally outside the Patriot Center, which seats 10,000 people.

GMU student Joseph Taylor, who is also organizing student protestors, said “We students may be called Patriots because of [our] basketball team name, but some of us actually are patriots.”
