One of the most prominent super political action committees backing Hillary Clinton released a new Youtube ad arguing Donald Trump would fail as a leader of the military.
“I know the sacrifices our military makes,” retired Maj. Gen. Paul D. Eaton says in the Priorites USA ad, titled “For America.” “For thirty years I served everywhere from Iraq to Somalia, where I’ve been responsible for the lives of our sons and daughters. For all of them and our country I cannot support Donald Trump.”
Eaton adds, “Donald Trump doesn’t have the temperament or the judgment to be our commander in chief. That’s why I’m speaking out, for America.”
The ad was made in conjunction with VoteVets, a progressive PAC aimed at helping veterans. Priorities USA has issued numerous pro-Clinton television ads during the primary cycle, but this is the first one intended to reach out to veterans.
On the campaign trail, Clinton often refers to Trump as “temperamentally unfit” to be commander in chief, and too unstable to deal with foreign leaders or have access to the nuclear codes. On Tuesday afternoon in Atlantic City, N.J., she is expected to give a speech bashing the presumptive GOP nominee’s business record.
