Police arrest suspect in connection to Washington shooting

Authorities have arrested the suspect in a Friday shooting at a mall in Burlington, Wash., that left five people dead, the Washington State Patrol announced Saturday evening.

Arcan Cetin, 20, of Oak Harbor, Wash., was taken into custody around 7 p.m. local time, about 29 miles southwest of Burlington.

The Patrol released the name and mugshot of Cetin late Saturday evening.

Investigators have yet to determine a motive.

Police had been looking for the gunman who opened fire Friday evening in Cascade Mall, about 65 miles north of Seattle, around 7 p.m. local time.

Four women and one man were fatally shot. The number dead reported by police has repeatedly been changed since the shooting. Police originally said four people had died Friday evening, but later revised the number to three, before bumping the number back up to five Saturday after the man who sustained life-threatening injuries was transported to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle for treatment and later died.

Authorities originally said they were searching for a suspect, armed with a rifle, who was a Hispanic male, in his teens or early 20s, wearing gray. After the shooting he was reportedly seen heading towards Interstate 5.

The FBI, assisting in the investigation, said that it had no evidence that the attack was an act of terrorism, but warned that it was not discounting it.
