WATCH: Chair pleads for ‘respect’ at Dem convention

Democratic convention chairwoman Marcia Fudge was forced to ask the rowdy Democratic crowd to respect her as she manages the convention, which was filled with hundreds of Bernie Sanders supporters who were booing the event as it kicked off Monday.

Fudge, an Ohio Democrat, was picked to chair the convention after Democrats ousted Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz, who was given the boot after released emails made it clear the DNC favored Hillary Clinton in the race.

Sanders supporters flooded the convention, and were heard chanting, “Bernie, Bernie!” throughout the opening session, and forced Fudge to interrupt the crowd soon after she started.

“Excuse me, excuse me,” she pleaded.

After her opening remarks, she delivered what seemed to be an off-script message to the jeering Sanders supporters.

“I intend to be fair, I want to hear the varying opinions here. I am going to be respectful of you, and I want you to be respectful of me,” she said.
