Young woman stabbed on Metro bus

WASHINGTON (AP) — Metro says a young woman was stabbed on a bus in southeast Washington.

It happened shortly after 2 p.m. Sunday at the intersection of 6th and Chesapeake streets, Southeast.

Metro spokeswoman Caroline Lukas says two women around 18 years of age got into a fight while riding an A8 bus. One stabbed the other several times in the midsection.

The victim was flown to a hospital. Lukas says police later learned that the injuries were not life-threatening.

Police are searching for the attacker.
