Senate Judiciary Chairman Chuck Grassley, R-Iowa, doesn’t foresee and end to leaks to the press from within the Trump administration now that former FBI Director Robert Mueller has been appointed to be special counsel in the investigation into Russian interference with U.S. elections.
Grassley made the prediction on Twitter, saying that leaks will likely continue from not only the White House, but also the CIA and FBI. Grassley’s committee, along with a handful of other congressional panels, are conducting their own probes into Russia.

Among the reports citing unnamed sources giving the Trump administration grief this week was one that said Trump provided classified intelligence to Russian officials. Another was about a memo, written by fired FBI Director James Comey, that claimed Trump pressured him into dropping an investigation into former national security adviser Mike Flynn.
Back in February Trump said that the “illegal leaks” are the “real story” of the Flynn situation, rather than Flynn misleading the Trump administration about his communications with a Russian envoy that prompted his ouster.
The recent coverage prompted Trump, during a commencement address to Coast Guard Academy this week, to lament: “No politician in history … has been treated worse or more unfairly.”
Grassley said that the continued leaks will keep Trump on the front page of the “MYTimes and WashPost,” likely referring to the New York Times and Washington Post.
