The Louisville Police Department has released the 911 calls from the mass shooting at Old National Bank that killed five people and injured eight others.
The release of the 911 calls on Wednesday comes one day after police investigators released the body camera footage from Officers Nickolas Wilt and Cory Galloway, who were the first responders to the shooting on Monday. Wilt was shot in the head in the confrontation with Connor Sturgeon, the 23-year-old shooter who was an employee of the bank. Sturgeon was shot and killed by Galloway after exchanging gunfire.

Six calls were released. They include calls from a witness on a video call, a witness inside the bank, a second witness inside the bank, the shooter’s mother, a caller outside the bank who was joined by a witness who was inside the bank, and a second caller outside the bank. A half-hour of emergency responder radio chatter was released as well.
“Transparency is important — even more so in times of crisis. Today, we are releasing the 911 calls from Monday’s mass shooting. Parts of the audio have been redacted to protect the privacy of those involved. I would also like to remind our community that we will be having a public vigil to offer strength and prayers for the victims of Monday’s shooting, their friends and family, and all victims of gun violence in our city,” Louisville Mayor Craig Greenberg was quoted as saying.
Police say there was a nine-minute span between the first shots fired by Sturgeon and his death.
