Blogosphere newcomer Jeff Dobbs offers some wistful words that reflect how timing truly is everything:
If I have one regret about waiting as long as I did before starting this blog, it is that by self-stifling my dissent and not speaking truth to power, I was giving up essential liberty for temporary security and deserved neither. Oh, wait. That’s not it. My regret is that I didn’t start this blog before John Edwards left the race. It coulda been fun!
To help make his point, Dobbs produced the artwork for a potential John Edwards bestseller, seen above. Dobbs’ elegiac post has gotten me thinking how dull things have been since John Edwards has dropped out from the presidential race. The times we had! Remember when it came out that candidate Edwards had run up a large bill at donor expense at the New Hampshire salon “The Pink Sapphire?”
I know this little post has likely left you hankering to see that footage of Edwards fiddling with his hair for two minutes. I say don’t deny yourself life’s small pleasures. Have at it. And remember the good times.
