Newly minted heartthrob Robert Pattinson of “Twilight” has lately been linked to co-star Kristen Stewart in the tabloids. But if there is something going on between the two, it doesn’t appear to be exclusive. While in Cannes for the annual film festival, Rob reportedly met blonde L.A.-based hottie Erika Dutra at an event … and ended up leaving with her.
“Erika was introduced to Robert by a mutual friend at the beginning of the night and he was smitten with her from that point on,” an onlooker dished to Life&Style magazine. “He took pictures of her, sat with her all night, and the two of them were even seen kissing!”
“There was serious chemistry between them, and they looked like they were having an amazing time,” the gawker added. “Erika and Robert even left the party together!”
That sound you hear? Why, that’s just the hearts of thousands of 13-year-old girls breaking.
Sutherland: Sorry
Assault charges against Kiefer Sutherland may be dropped, after he apologized for head-butting Jack McCollough and the fashion designer accepted the apology.
The now-infamous fracas took place at an NYC nightclub on May 5, following the Metropolitan Museum’s annual fashion gala. The “24” star was supposedly attempting to defend the honor of Brooke Shields, a mutual friend whom Jack accidentally jostled. The Proenza Schouler auteur broke his nose in three places and required surgery.
“I am sorry about what happened that night and sincerely regret that Mr. McCollough was injured,” Kiefer declared to the AP.
In the same joint statement, Jack responded, “I appreciate Mr. Sutherland’s statement and wish him well.”
The amicable resolution means there’s a good likelihood the misdemeanor charge against the actor will be dropped. However, prosecutors in L.A. are reviewing whether the incident constitutes a violation of Kiefer’s probation after a DUI conviction. Oh, come on, give the guy a break — for the sake of “24” fans!
Natalie: Painful Decision
We were happy to hear that Natalie Cole underwent a successful kidney transplant last week … but it turns out there’s a heartbreakingly ironic twist to the story. In order to get the life-saving surgery, the singer had to leave the bedside of her dying sister. Carol “Cookie” Cole had only found out the week before that she was suffering from lung cancer.
“Natalie was there with her at her bedside at four in the morning on Monday, and she got a phone call from her doctors that a kidney was ready for her,” younger sister Timolin told Page Six.
“She said, ‘What do you mean? I can’t deal with that right now! I’m here with my dying sister!’ And they said to her, ‘No, ma’am. We’ve got to do it now. You’ve got to be at Cedars-Sinai in two hours.’ I told her, ‘Natalie, this is God’s gift, and you’ve got to go now. Cookie would want this for you.’”
But there was a happy ending for Natalie: “She’s doing well, and she’s going to party like a rock star in no time.”
Food Fight?
Is there a catfight cooking between the Food Network’s two hot female stars? Giada di Laurentiis insists there’s no rivalry with her and perky kitchenista Rachael Ray.
“Do we hang out all the time? No. Are we best friends? No,” Giada concedes to “Redbook.” “But if you’re not best friends, people assume that you hate each other.”
“We laugh about it,” the Italian chef adds. “We do these festivals together, and she’ll say to me, ‘Oh, we’d better take a picture together and smile, because if we don’t, God only knows what’s going to get written about us.’ She’s a lovely person.”
Still, something about Giada’s tone tells us we wouldn’t want to be in the kitchen with these two when the E.V.O.O. starts flying.
