It’s almost time to take your shot at getting free tickets to a D.C. holiday tradition.
The lottery opens at 12:01 a.m. Friday for the National Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony, which will be at 5 p.m. Dec. 9 on the National Mall.
The National Park Service and National Park Foundation has said 3,000 ticketed seats and 10,000 standing-room-only spots will be up for grabs via the lottery, which closes at 11:59 p.m. Sunday. The ticket status of applicants will be available starting Wednesday.
