Alan Dershowitz, Harvard Law school professor emeritus, claimed Thursday that a woman at a recent party in Martha’s Vineyard fantasized about stabbing him through the heart over his defense of President Trump.
Dershowitz, a Democrat, has said his friends who summer on the Massachusetts island have shunned him for expressing views that support the president. A professor at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, and a former Vineyard friend of Dershowitz’s, began an email campaign meant to ostracize him, he has said in recent days.
Appearing on “Tucker Carlson Tonight” Thursday, Dershowitz claimed some have gone as far as wishing for his death.
“At a party this week at Martha’s Vineyard, a woman said, ‘If Dershowitz were here tonight, I’d stab him through the heart.’ This is a Martha’s Vineyard woman saying she would stab me through the heart,” he said.
Dershowitz did not clarify how he had heard the woman’s comments.
He has noted that he does not support Trump’s policies and doesn’t plan on leaving the Democratic Party, but he would defend anyone’s civil liberties, whether it’s Trump or not.

By shunning him, liberals are playing into Trump’s hand, he argued.
“They did this to try to hurt me, but the end result is they’re helping Donald Trump. They are strengthening Donald Trump’s hands.”
Dershowitz then challenged MSNBC “Morning Joe” co-host Joe Scarborough to invite him on the show so that he can respond in real-time when they mock him over his defense of Trump.
“Let’s see if he has the guts to put me on his show so I can tell his viewers the truth,” he said.
