“My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic” voice actress Tara Strong was amused over Twitter at the use of her character to justify Melania Trump’s allegedly plagiarized speech at the Republican National Convention.
Earlier Tuesday, RNC communications director Sean Spicer invoked a quote from Twilight Sparkle, Strong’s purple pony character, to illustrate why Melania’s speech should not be considered a rip-off of Michelle Obama’s 2008 Democratic National Convention address.
“Melania Trump said, ‘The strength of your dreams and your willingness to work for them,'” Spicer said. “Twilight Sparkle from ‘My Little Pony’ said, ‘This is your dream. Anything you can do in your dreams, you can do now.'”
Strong responded with a series of tweets condemning Spicer bringing Twilight Sparkle into the conversation, the most emphatic one being a vine of her saying the above quote in Twilight Sparkle’s voice before saying, “Plagiarism is not magic.”

In another tweet, she said that Spicer “aint #Twilightlicious.” She followed that tweet with a public service announcement: “I’m Twilight Sparkle & do not approve this message.”
