Travel ban arguments in appeals court will be broadcast live

The 4th Circuit Court of Appeals on Tuesday granted C-SPAN access to broadcast live oral arguments about President Trump’s travel ban.

The federal appeals court gave C-SPAN the right to broadcast the audio of the arguments live on Dec. 8, and the audio stream will appear on the court’s website.

The third version of Trump’s travel ban will be argued over in the eastern federal appeals court after a Maryland judge in October blocked the new guidance issued by the Trump administration in September. The new travel ban restrictions targeted six Muslim-majority countries and added Chad, Venezuela, and North Korea to the list of countries whose citizens may not travel to the U.S. However, only Venezuelan government officials were blocked.

Separate arguments on Trump’s newest travel ban before the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals are scheduled for Dec. 6, but the Justice Department urged the Supreme Court on Monday to intervene in the litigation before it arrives at the western federal appeals court.
