Eric Bolling: I haven’t spoken to the White House about a possible job

Former Fox News host Eric Bolling denied Sunday he was angling for a position within President Trump’s White House, despite writing on Twitter he would work for the administration for $1.

“No. You asked me that. I would never lie to you. I have had no conversations with the White House regarding jobs,” Bolling told CNN’s Brian Stelter, specifically pushing back on speculation he wanted to be hired as White House communications director.

Bolling said his initial tweet was prompted after he was “infuriated” by the manner in which Trump had the $1.3 trillion omnibus spending bill passed by Congress this week “pushed” on him.

“I’d work for a single US $1 to help drain the swamp, plug the leaks, build the wall with Pesos, lower taxes, build infrastructure, protect #2A and save some parents from the scourge of opioids. But that would mean working directly with POTUS, not near him,” he wrote.

Bolling on Sunday reiterated how the president urgently needed to “plug the leaks.”

He added Trump’s tendency to poach former TV personalities was based on a desire to employ “like-minded people.”

The White House communications director post will be vacated by Hope Hicks when she leaves the West Wing, a move that is expected to occur shortly.
