The Metro technician accused of stealing thousands of dollars of coins from Metro has been fired from the transit agency. And the supervisor who oversaw money collection at the agency is planning to leave Metro at the end of this month, according to Metro. Horace Dexter McDade, 58, of Bowie, was arrested on Jan. 18 when authorities accused the man who fixed broken fare machines of stealing their contents. He was fired a week later, a Metro spokesman said. A Metro Transit Police officer who was accused of running the theft ring with him, and buying thousands of lottery tickets that led to their downfall, was fired that week. – Kytja Weir
