The Smithsonian will commemorate the 10-year anniversary of the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks with a special display for one week. The National Museum of American History will feature objects from New York, the Pentagon and Shanksville, Pa., and from the Transportation Security Administration from Sept. 3 to Sept. 11. The items will be shown on tables rather than behind glass to create a more intimate experience for visitors. Objects include airplane fragments, a crushed New York Fire Department firetruck door, a Pentagon building map and other objects. The display will be open from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. daily.
