A Texas deputy was shot and killed early Sunday morning during an apparent traffic stop.
The deputy was identified as Charles Galloway, Harris County Precinct 5 confirmed to the Washington Examiner. Galloway had served in Houston, Texas, for 12 years, according to Officer Down Memorial Page. The office announced the shooting on social media a little after 3 a.m. on Sunday.

The Precinct 5 office said in its social media post it has Precinct 5 deputies on the scene and that the Houston Police Department would be handling the investigation.

The office told the Washington Examiner that they do not know the identity of the shooter.
