CNN anchor torches Trump for ‘outrageous’ Vince Foster attacks

CNN’s Jake Tapper scolded Donald Trump Tuesday for dredging up decades-old Internet rumors alleging the Clintons murdered a White House aide named Vince Foster.

The presumed GOP nominee said in an interview with the Washington Post that the circumstances surrounding Foster’s death, which was ruled officially as a suicide, are “very fishy.”

Tapper called Trump’s suggestion “outrageous,” and corrected the Republican candidate for giving new life to a “long-ago-debunked falsehood.”

“The notion that this was a murder is a fiction borne of delusion, untethered to reality, and contradicted by evidence reviewed in six investigations,” Tapper said.

Addressing Trump directly, he added, “You lend credence to a bizarre and unfounded conspiracy theory.”

“To say otherwise is ridiculous and, frankly, shameful,” Tapper said. “Again, this is not a pro-Clinton position or an anti-Trump position. It is a pro-truth position.”
