Vice President Kamala Harris was criticized on social media Monday after she passed out cookies to journalists that featured her face.
USA Today White House correspondent Courtney Subramanian brought attention to the sweets when she tweeted a photo of the cookies that closely resembled Harris.
“@vp made an OTR visit to the back of the plane and delivered cookies decorated with the shape of her likeness as well as AF2,” she wrote.

The baked goods quickly drew ire and mockery from conservative pundits on social media.
“As a former Military Aide during the Clinton administration, I never even imagined this level of narcissism,” wrote Buzz Patterson, a candidate for Congress. “And, all on YOUR tax dollars America! Democrats, even you can’t be cool with this.”
The right-wing group For America used the cookies to berate Harris’s supposed reluctance to visit the southern border as migrants continue to overwhelm authorities in unprecedented numbers. President Joe Biden appointed the vice president as the czar of the immigration crisis in April.
The group edited an image of the cookies to place the phrase, “Anyone know where the border is?” atop Harris’s blank face.

Raheem J. Kassam, editor-in-chief of the National Pulse, likened the vice president to a “sociopath” for the display.
“Can we be very clear that Kamala Harris is such a sociopath that she’s handing out cookies of her faceless head to try and curry favor with the stenographers at the back of her plane?” he wrote.

It is unclear who baked the cookies, and the White House did not immediately respond to a request for comment from the Washington Examiner.

On Sunday, Harris arrived in Guatemala via Air Force Two for the first leg of her tour that aims to determine the “root causes of migration.”
The vice president touched down at 6:18 p.m. local time, where she was greeted by an L-shaped red carpet where Foreign Affairs Minister Pedro Brolo and U.S. Ambassador to Guatemala William Popp met her after she deplaned. Harris’s trip was delayed by plane troubles, which spokeswoman Symone Sanders said presented “no immediate safety issue.”
