CNN host Brian Stelter chastised his network colleague and Playboy chief White House correspondent Brian Karem for “unprofessional conduct” during a spat with conservative pundit Sebastian Gorka earlier in the summer.
Karem exchanged harsh words with Gorka following a July 11 social media summit to which President Trump invited conservative members of the media.
Gorka challenged Karem after he said that the summit was attended by a “group of people that are eager for demonic possession.”
“You’re a punk! You’re not a journalist!” Gorka retorted, before walking away.
Karem’s press pass was suspended for 30 days because of the encounter.
“To me, this was clearly unprofessional conduct at the White House,” Brian Stelter said on Sunday of his colleague, Karem during a discussion on Reliable Sources.
Karem clapped back, suggesting that it was the White House that had behaved unprofessionally in the encounter by revoking his press pass. Karem explained his reaction was a joke, and shouldn’t have been taken seriously.
