Vice President Joe Biden has canceled two planned campaign appearances on behalf of Hillary Clinton following the fatal shooting of five law enforcement officers in Dallas.
According to the White House press office, Biden was scheduled to appear in his native Scranton, Pennsylvania, Friday. The second planned event was a joint appearance with the former secretary of state. But those plans appear to be scrapped, as of Friday morning, and the vice president will remain at his home in Wilmington, Delaware.
“The events in Scranton were postponed due to the shootings this week,” a spokeswoman for Biden told THE WEEKLY STANDARD. “He is remaining in Delaware, where he’s been briefed by senior advisors and will tape the weekly address.”
