TULSA, Okla. (AP) — Hertz Corp. has begun issuing layoff notices to employees of the Dollar Thrifty Automotive Group’s Tulsa headquarters.

Hertz spokeswoman Anna Bootenhoff told the Tulsa World (http://bit.ly/19n8EyF ) that an undisclosed number of employees will be laid off and others will be moved to Hertz’s new headquarters in Estero, Fla., in early 2015.

Hertz acquired Dollar Thrifty in November in a $2.3 billion deal and Bootenhoff says that at the time the company noted there would be “redundancies” that would be eliminated. Bootenhoff says Hertz remains committed to maintaining a presence with Dollar Thrifty in Tulsa.
