A pair of members of the white supremacist group Aryan Circle pleaded guilty to the assault of a man in Austin, Texas, the Justice Department said Thursday.
Michael Martin, 38, also known as Aryan Prodigy, and Bobby Boney, 50, pleaded guilty to assault “resulting in serious bodily injury in aid of racketeering,” according to a Justice Department readout.
Both men are from Texas and pleaded guilty to the assault of a victim on Oct. 2, 2016.
The night of the incident, Martin and Boney allegedly gathered at a park with other Aryan Circle members to participate in the assault.
“Boney and another AC member violently beat the victim, including kicking the victim in the head while he was on the ground. This attack resulted in the victim seeking medical care,” the department said.

The case is part of a larger investigation into the Aryan Circle, called Operation Noble Virtue, the Justice Department added. The broader investigation resulted in prosecutions and convictions of Aryan Circle leadership in six different jurisdictions.
Martin and Boney joined the group in the early 2000s and have gang tattoos indicating their affiliation, both serving leadership positions in the gang.
The Aryan Circle is a “white supremacist organization that originated in the Texas Department of Corrections and operates in federal prisons across the country, as well as outside prisons in states including Texas, Arkansas, Louisiana, and Missouri,” according to court filings from the case.
The group operates and enforces rules by promoting discipline among members and through fear tactics, including “murder, attempted murder, assault, and threats,” the statement added.
Boney’s leadership title was the vice president rank, meaning he disciplined gang members who did not follow directives or failed to comply with other gang codes of operation.
