Paul Pelosi’s wrecked Porsche up for auction

One man’s crash is another person’s treasure.

The damaged Porsche of Paul Pelosi, husband of House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, has made an appearance on an online auction website after he wrecked the car in a drunken driving crash in May.

The 2021 Porsche 911 Carrera S has been listed on the car auction website Copart and is currently at the site’s Martinez, California, car lot.

The listing does not specify the owner, and the car’s vehicle identification number has been redacted in reports by police. The online listing notes “damage may be present on the vehicle: side and undercarriage,” and pictures on the listing closely match the photos released by California Highway Patrol on Tuesday.

Pelosi’s car suffered significant damage when he was driving to his family’s home in Napa Valley when he reportedly attempted to cross the highway but was rammed by a Jeep, according to authorities. The crash did not result in any injuries to Pelosi or the other driver.

Authorities responding to the crash quickly saw Pelosi showed “signs of impairment,” according to court documents. Pelosi was found to have a .082% blood alcohol content, which is above the legal limit, and was booked at Napa County Jail before being released after posting bail.

Pelosi pleaded guilty to one charge of DUI Tuesday. He was sentenced to three years of probation and five days in jail. However, Pelosi has already served two days, received credit for two additional days, and will participate in a work program for the remaining time, Politico reported.

Nancy Pelosi was not in California with her husband when the crash occurred in May. She was on the East Coast to give a speech at Brown University the following day.

The House speaker’s office has declined multiple requests for comment about her husband’s accident last May and has refrained from commenting on social media.
