Mika Brzezinski says she turned down Trump’s offer to officiate wedding to Joe Scarborough

President Trump offered to oversee the pending marriage of MSNBC “Morning Joe” co-hosts Joe Scarborough and Mika Brzezinski, but Brzezinski said she declined.

News of Brzezinski and Scarborough’s recent engagement broke Thursday morning, and in an interview with Vanity Fair, Brzezinski said Trump made his offer in January.

“The White House that I grew up in was an amazing place,” she said. “If it weren’t Trump, it might be something to think about. The mental picture is just fascinating, but the reality is just — no. No, no, no, no, no.”

Brzezinski and Scarborough were close with Trump during the 2016 campaign and the hosts were often criticized for being too light on the candidate.

But in the final months of the campaign and into Trump’s presidency, their coverage turned intensely negative and Trump has repeatedly said in public that he no longer watches their show, a favorite among political and media insiders.
