MontCo police chief lays low on immigration

Montgomery County Police Chief Thomas Manger, one of the most outspoken — or at least quoted — critics of Arizona’s illegal-immigration law isn’t sharing his thoughts about a similar push in the region.

He refused to comment Thursday when asked by The Washington Examiner about the Virginia Rule of Law Act, a proposal similar to Arizona’s new law.

“I am not commenting on what they are doing over there,” he said.

Montgomery County has been a target for anti-illegal immigration activists,

who say county leaders are coddling illegals by avoiding stricter

enforcement policies.
