City homicide detectives scrambled Monday to solve a year-high six homicides in one night.
Between 10:25 p.m. Sunday and 2:10 a.m. Monday, city police were sent to four homicide scenes that spanned the city.

» At 10:25 p.m. on Sunday night, three males and a female were shot on the 4000 block of Oakford Avenue in the West Arlington neighborhood of Northwest Baltimore. The foursome was gathered on the block when unknown attackers approached with a “high-powered weapon,” said Agent Donny Moses, a police spokesman.
The attackers fired on the victims and fled the scene. The three males were pronounced dead at area hospitals, and the female is in serious but stable condition, Moses said.
Police know of no motive for the crime and have no suspects, he added.
» At about 11:30 p.m. Sunday, police were called to the 4000 block of Parkside Drive in the Belair-Parkside neighborhood in Northeast Baltimore for a common assault.
Once there, an officer heard gunshots, called for backup and created a barricade situation, Moses said.
While waiting for a SWAT team to arrive, the officer heard gunshots on two occasions, police said. At about 11:50 p.m., the SWAT team broke into the residence, and found Dawn Williams-Stewart, 32, had been fatally shot, Moses said.
Inside, an adult male was hanging from the ceiling with a belt around his neck and a gun in his left hand, Moses said. The suspect was unconscious, but alive. He is being treated at an area hospital, and is expected to be charged upon release, according to Moses.
» Just after midnight Monday morning, police were called to the 1800 block of North Washington Street in the Broadway East neighborhood of East Baltimore, where officers found a 19-year-old suffering from a gunshot wound.
Donnell Williams, who has an arrest record that includes drug and carjacking charges, was shot in the back of the head, Moses said. Police have no suspects and know of no motive for the killing.
» The night’s final homicide occurred at 2:10 a.m. when police were called to the 200 block of South Clinton Street in the Highlandtown neighborhood of Southeast Baltimore. Moses said an adult male was found dead at the scene, but had no further information.
The violent night brings the city’s homicide total to 216 for the year, compared with 268 for the same time period last year.
