MSNBC host Joe Scarborough was appalled at how much the 2020 candidates bashed former President Barack Obama’s policies in order to go after his vice president Joe Biden during Wednesday’s primary debate.
“Ok. Let me get this straight. Democrats hate Obamacare AND hated his immigration policies? What planet are they from,” the Morning Joe host asked on Twitter. “You know you have extreme ideologues running for president when @BarackObama is a punching bag for being too conservative.”
You know you have extreme ideologues running for president when @BarackObama is a punching bag for being too conservative. FWIW, President Obama is the only Democrat to twice win a majority of the vote since FDR (and is still hugely popular in the Democratic Party.) Not. Smart.

Biden got flack from New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio and New Jersey Sen. Cory Booker because of the amount of illegal immigrants that were deported during the Obama administration. De Blasio asked Biden if he asked Obama about the amount of immigrants that were being deported.
“I was vice president. I was not the president. I keep my recommendations in private, unlike you. I expect you would say whatever was said privately with him. That was not what I do,” Biden replied.
“Mr. Vice President, you can’t have it both ways. You invoke President Obama more than anybody in this campaign. You can’t do it when it is convenient and dodge it when it is not,” Booker interjected.
De Blasio’s team later tweeted a reference to Booker’s comments, telling Biden he’s “still waiting for a direct answer.”
Hey, @JoeBiden. Still waiting for a direct answer.@CoryBooker is right: You can’t just invoke President Obama when it’s convenient. #DemDebate
