Pete Souza, the White House photographer under President Barack Obama, is publishing a book comparing the former president to his successor, President Trump.
Souza, who frequently compares Obama and Trump via his Instagram account, is titling his book, “Shade: A Tale of Two Presidents.” It is set to be released in October by Little, Brown and Company.
In a lengthy post on the social media platform, Souza explained that he’s “distressed by the barrage of lies and hateful comments” from the current administration. Souza said he’s posted images contrasting Obama’s presidency to Trump’s because he’s concerned about the future of the nation.
“I do this not as a partisan hack, but as an American citizen concerned about the future of our democracy because of our current president. My commentary on Instagram has been subtle, sometimes humorous, and certainly more respectful than his commentary on Twitter,” Souza wrote.
