King Charles III pelted with egg for second time

King Charles III had yet another egg hurled at him during his walkabout in St. George’s Square in Luton on Tuesday.

Bedfordshire police said they arrested a suspect in his 20s for common assault. He is now being questioned, police said via the Daily Mail.

The king was visiting Luton’s Town Hall and the town’s newly built Guru Nanak Gurdwara, a Sikh temple. He appeared to be unfazed by the egg and continued meeting with people.

STUDENT ARRESTED AFTER CHARLES GETS EGGED

This is the second time Charles has been targeted by people using eggs. In early November, Patrick Thelwell, a British University of York student, was arrested and charged with throwing eggs at Charles and Queen Consort Camilla.

The royals were in York to unveil a statue of late Queen Elizabeth II at York Minster.

Thelwell threw four eggs at the pair, all which missed, decrying that the country was “built on the blood of slavery” while being wrestled to the ground by police, as shown in video published by the Telegraph.

Tuesday’s incident comes a few days after Prince Harry and Meghan, the Duchess of Sussex, dropped a preview of their upcoming documentary with Netflix, Harry & Meghan — the same day Prince William and Kate arrived in Boston for their first visit to the U.S. in eight years.

The documentary is set to explore the challenges faced by the prince and Meghan while they were in the global spotlight and what ultimately pushed them to leave England. It also touches on allegations of racism in the royal family.

Camilla also made headlines last week after doing away with the term “ladies-in-waiting,” renaming her royal helpers “queen’s companions” and ending a tradition that dates back to the Middle Ages. Elizabeth’s former ladies-in-waiting were renamed “ladies of the household,” and they will help Charles plan and host events at Buckingham Palace.
