Obama will visit Dallas early next week

President Obama will cut short his trip to Europe to visit the city of Dallas at the request of Dallas Mayor Mike Rawlings.

The White House released a statement late Friday confirming the president will fly to Texas early next week, despite being previously scheduled to be in Europe at the time.

Obama will depart for Madrid, Spain, Saturday then travel to Naval Station Rota to address military personnel serving at the base. The Oval Office has canceled the president’s visit to Seville, allowing the president to return to Washington Sunday night, one day earlier than planned.

Obama traveled to Warsaw, Poland, Thursday night to take part in his final North Atlantic Treaty Organization summit.
