Kidnapping of officer lands men in prison

A Baltimore City Circuit judge Tuesday sentenced Timothy Brockington, 28, and Tyrone Gross, 34, both of Baltimore City, to 45 years in prison for kidnapping a police officer during a carjacking.

Off-duty officer Antoine Boykin was at an Exxon gas station on East Mulberry Street at 1:30 a.m. July 5, 2005, when three males inside a car forced the officer into their vehicle at gunpoint, prosecutors said.

Once inside, Boykin was robbed and was struck in the head with the gun, according to prosecutors.

Brockington and Gross drove Boykin to the 1100 block of Myrtle Avenue, where he was blindfolded and walked at gunpoint down the rear alley, prosecutors said.
