Is John Travolta’s grief about son Jett’s death testing his faith? According to a report in a U.K. tabloid, the actor and prominent Scientologist has been having doubts about the controversial sect since his 16-year-old firstborn died after a seizure in January.
The Daily Mail claims John’s friends believe he is disappointed that following Scientology’s teachings on medical treatment did not help Jett, who was rumored to have been autistic. The “Hairspray” star is said to regret eschewing prescription medication in favor of the group’s so-called purification rituals. (John and wife Kelly Preston reportedly took Jett off an anti-seizure drug they said wasn’t working.)
But John’s camp says he’s as loyal a believer as ever. The actor’s rep told “E! News” the story was “totally false,” adding, “He is a member and it’s as it was, now and forever.” Well, that sounds pretty final.
Ri-union?
Did Rihanna and Chris Brown really have a weekend rendezvous at an NYC hotel? A recent report noted that the former lovers recently checked into the same Midtown Manhattan spot, the Trump International Hotel & Tower, for the same weekend. But evidently, it was just a coincidence.
“Ri didn’t even know Chris was going to be in town, much less that he was in the same hotel,” a friend insisted to the New York Daily News of the “Umbrella” singer. “As for whether they’re sneaking around together, she’s not dumb — she would never mess around with him again.”
And a Chris pal seconds that, noting that a judge legally barred him from being within 50 yards of his ex-girlfriend: “[Chris] has called Rihanna since discovering they were staying in such close proximity, but he has definitely not tried to see her.”
Well, that’s a relief!
See Ya, Camilla
They never even officially confirmed they were a couple, but Joe Jonas and Camilla Belle have officially confirmed they’re no longer a couple. After breaking Taylor Swift’s heart by taking up with the actress, the Jonas Brothers heartthrob has moved on again.
“Yes, it’s true,” her rep told Us magazine. “[Joe and Camilla] have broken up. There is no third party involved and they care deeply about each other and will remain friends.”
Well, that’s one upside to being in the spotlight. Most teenagers going through a breakup would love to have a publicist to field questions about it.
