12 charged in N.Va. prescription fraud, oxycodone ring

Twelve people were charged Wednesday in a prescription fraud and oxycodone trafficking ring that distributed pills throughout Northern Virginia, according to federal prosecutors.

Prosecutors said the 12 presented fraudulent prescriptions for oxycodone at pharmacies. They allegedly copied and forged prescriptions and stole driver’s licenses to use as identification. Members of the drug ring then sold the pills for a profit, prosecutors said.

Authorities say the ring operated in Prince William and Fairfax counties. The charges were filed in federal court in Alexandria.

Those arrested in connection with the ring are: John M. Wolfrey, 26, of Bristow; Justin R. Wolfrey, 23, of Bristow; Joseph A. Wolfrey, 23, of Bristow; Roy L. Johnson, 26, of Manassas; Heather R. Mullins, 26, of Manassas; Daniel R. Mauck, 34, of Manassas Park; Wallace L. Mauck, 29, of Manassas; Patricia Mauck, 29, of Manassas Park; Donald B. Austin, 24, of Manassas; and Jennifer L. Edwards, 32, of Manassas.

Two people — Roland D. Reynolds Jr., 24, of Sterling, and Ashley N. Foster, 23, of Remington — have been charged but not apprehended.
