A quick cold cure

The American Pharmaceutical Association has given holiday travelers their newest weapon in the battle against the holiday cold. The “Traveler?s Guide to the Common Cold,” released by the APhA earlier in the month, is a brochure that consumers can find helpful in treating an illness on the run.

Containing educational information for most common illnesses, the brochure also features an “at-a-glance” format for prevention and treatment of most colds, speeding the recovery process. What makes the guide tailored for travelers is its brochure format, which makes it very simple for packing away and quick handling.

According to a new study conducted by Harris Interactive, over 50 percent of U.S. travelers ages 30 and up believe it would be helpful to have a standard set of guidelines for treating and getting over the common cold while traveling. The goal of the guide is to provide a simple travel medicine index that people can use to acquire the proper over-the-counter medicine.

The guide, “Traveler?s Guide to the Common Cold,” published by the APhA, will be available through nationwide pharmacies, or visit www.pharmacyandyou.org.
