Former Vice President Joe Biden said Monday he hopes America will never see another president like President Trump.
Biden appeared on the “Late Show” Monday night and was asked how the presidency has changed since Trump took office and how his behavior will influence future presidencies.
“I think it will, God willing, it will go down as the single exception in American history,” Biden said.

Biden said he recently asked a group of Republicans in California if they were worried about the stability of the republic and “phony nationalism.”
“I just think there is an attack on the system,” Biden said. “I think people are worried.”
“It goes beyond President Trump, in my view,” he added. “But for 74,500 votes, thereabouts, we wouldn’t be having this conversation. We’d have a good president. We’d have a president who understands the role of the presidency.”
Biden has not ruled out the possibility of a 2020 presidential run.
“I’m not closing the door. I’ve been around too long,” he said on NBC News’ “Today” show on Monday. “I’m a great respecter of fate.”
