The U.S. military says it killed eight al Shabaab militants in an airstrike last week, which targeted a vehicle about 30 miles northwest of Kismayo in Somalia.

A release from U.S. Africa Command said in a statement issued Monday that eight terrorists were killed and one vehicle was destroyed and that no civilians were among the casualties.
