An Illinois man was arrested over the weekend after he allegedly rushed a reporter on the air, grabbed her, and shouted an explicit message.
Eric Farina, 20, was charged with battery and disorderly conduct and was released on a $2,500 bond.
The incident happened Saturday evening when WGN9 reporter Gaynor Hall was giving an update about severe weather damage in Shorewood, Illinois.
The man, believed to be Farina, could be seen jumping in and putting his arms around Hall before saying: “F— her right in the p—y.”
“Farina grabbed the reporter around her shoulders and uttered a profane and disturbing statement,” the department said in a statement, according to the New York Post.
Police told Hall’s outlet that Farina made a full confession.
Hall addressed her incident on Facebook, saying, “It was not funny. You violated my personal space. You grabbed me. You scared me. Was it worth it?”
What kind of security does @WGNNews have in place for their reporters. @gaynor_hall was just assaulted and all they say is sorry about that. Put him in jail! pic.twitter.com/HMFlKxEkJi
