A Minnesota state lawmaker this week made good on his promise to draft legislation “banning” “The Bachelor” star Arie Luyendyk, Jr., who publicly broke off his engagement to Becca Kufrin during the show’s finale on Monday, from the humiliated finalist’s home state.
“I’m a man of my word – here’s the bill banning Arie,” State Rep. Drew Christensen, R-Prior Lake, tweeted Wednesday evening with a photo of the bill.
“It is state policy that every person in the state has a right to live free from the presence of Arie Luyendyk, Jr. in the state,” the document reads.

During Monday night’s emotional “The Bachelor” finale, Bachelor Arie Luyendyk unexpectedly ended his engagement to Minneapolis-based publicist Becca Kufrin after getting down on one knee just weeks before.
While breaking things off with Kufrin, Luyendyk admitted he still had feelings for one of the show’s former contestants, 26-year-old Lauren Burnham. Luyendyk’s admission sparked outrage throughout the nation for fans of the hit romance reality show.
Following the finale, the state lawmaker proposed that he would author a bill banning Luyendyk if his post got 1,000 retweets, a goal that was quickly met.
“If this gets a thousand retweets I’ll author a bill banning Arie from Minnesota.”
Christensen later tweeted offering to invite Kufrin to Minnesota’s State of the State Address if he got 10,000 retweets, a request that was again met.

It was announced Tuesday after a gut-wrenching finale follow up episode, “After the Final Rose,” that Kufrin would be the next “Bachelorette.”
