Local bands, restaurants joinin jam against breast cancer

The fourth annual MammoJam Music Festival to support breast cancer awareness will take place Jan. 27 at the 8×10 Club at 10 E. Cross St. in Federal Hill from 6 p.m. to midnight.

The event will feature four local bands, food and drinks from local restaurants and a silent auction.

MammoJam is a grassroots nonprofit organization that promotes breast cancer prevention, diagnosis and treatment programs.

It supports local groups such as Hoffberger Breast Center at Mercy Medical Center and Healthcare for the Homeless, founder Bill Romani said. Romani?s mother is a breast cancer survivor.

“I?ve been very active in breast cancer awareness, and I?m a longtime lover of music,” he said. “This was an opportunity to put the two together.”

Tickets are $30 in advance and $35 at the door.
