The Prince George’s County Council would support state legislation changing the county’s ethics board to make it more active.
The board that investigates ethics complaints against Prince George’s County’s officials did not meet at all last year, despite a widespread FBI corruption probe involving county officials.
While discussing ethics-related reforms, Council Chairwoman Ingrid Turner said the council supports the creation of an executive director position for the board and requiring it to meet at least twice a year.
Under current law, the board has no budget, the members are not paid and there is no full-time staff.
