Rep. Roger Williams, R-Texas, is linking “instigation” by President Obama and other politicians to the shooting of Dallas police officers.
In a statement released Friday after the shooting that left five offers dead and seven wounded, Williams blames the “spread of information and constant instigation” by both Obama and “other prominent” leaders on the increased violence.
This, he says, has “contributed to the modern day hostility we are witnessing between the police and those they serve.”
“As a result, today we are seeing one of the noblest professions condemned by those who could benefit most,” Williams said in his statement about Thursday’s attack, which was the worst on law enforcement since the 9/11 terror attacks.
In late June, the House Ethics Committee said it is reviewing a complaint against Williams, who was elected to Congress in 2013.
